Delightful Duck Tale

Image
A friend emailed me this: Something really amazing happened in Downtown Spokane this week and I had to share the story with you. Some of you may know that my brother, Joel, is a loan officer at Sterling Bank. He works downtown in a second story office building, overlooking busy Riverside Avenue . Several weeks ago he watched a mother duck choose the cement awning outside his window as the uncanny place to build a nest above the sidewalk. The mallard laid nine eggs in a nest in the corner of th e planter that is perched over 10 feet in the air. She dutifully kept the eggs warm for weeks and Monday afternoon all of her nine ducklings hatched. Joel worried all night how the mamma duck was going to get those babies safely off their perch in a busy, downtown, urban environment to take to water, which typically happens in the first 48 hours of a duck hatching. Tuesday morning, Joel came to work and watched the mother duck encourage her babies to the edge of the perch with the intent to s

Murdered and Chopped Filipina Woman in Japan

Hiroshi Nozaki, 48, was arrested and sentenced in 2000 for three and a half years in jail for carving up the body of another 27 year old Filipina woman, Longakit Alda Yoneda that he was living with at the time. After hacking up her body, and boiling it in a pasta pot, he flushed it down the toilet of a park in Yokohama! But after 8 years of committing a gruesome crime, here he is again chopping another Filipino woman's body named Honiefaith Ratilla Kamiosawa into pieces and hid them at the public train station locker. OMG! the Japanese Government was so damn wrong of sentencing him for just 3 and a half years of his crime 8 years ago and allow such murderer to go back out into society. But what surprises us all is that he wasn't really convicted of the murder of the first woman. He was “only” found guilty of “mutilating and abandoning of a dead body” because he claimed that he just woke up that morning and found beside him Longakit Alda Yoneda cold dead. The investigation into

A True Strongest Dad in the World

Strongest Dad in the World [From Sports Illustrated, By Rick Reilly] Eighty-five times he's pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in marathons. Eight times he's not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars--all in the same day. Wow! First, by just reading the title of this video that reads " Strongest Dad in the World ", I just thought that it is a dad who lifted a thousand pounds of weights that made him the strongest dad but I was struck and shed a tear after watching the whole video. A truly inspirational kind and beautiful, it shows unbelievable strength and love of a father to his son. A true unconditional love and the father is a true HERO.

Some Words Of Wisdom

We grow old and suddenly want to hurry things. Don't commit when you are not ready. Don't keep others waiting endlessly. To fulfill your parenting fantasies, get a puppy Don't bring another life into this world for all the wrong reasons. To keep yourself warm, buy a jacket. In the long run, it will be less complicated and less costly. Take care of yourself, don't wait for someone to take care of you. No one completes you... except you.

Open-minded blog readers... at Matthew Yglesias Blog

One Blog post about Harold Ford was posted at TheAtlantic.com and read some of the comments made. ---------------------------------------- The Comments... Harold Ford is the voice of Appalachian whites everywhere. Ugh. He is so awful. My not-very-good-with-names husband asked me twice: "Are you sure this guy is a Dem? He sounds like McCain's campaign worker?" good stuff, Tim. I've really grown to loathe Harold Ford. Obama needs talkers who vaccuum up some of that slack space that fills TV news so there will be less dead air for deadheads like Ford to fill. If Harold Ford is on the TV more than once a week, I fear I"ll strangle myself before November. I've really grown to loathe Harold Ford. Harold Ford is a tool. If Obama wins - Ford, Zell Miller and Lieberman should be shipped on the first banana boat to Haifa. What a ziocon stooge piece of shit. Thank God he lost that Tennessee Senate race. Can't blame the man for being a little jealous. I can't bel

You Are What You Think - A Lesson To Learn

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs ... who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants... The race began... No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as: "Oh, WAY too difficult!!" "They will NEVER make it to the top." The tiny frogs began collapsing. The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!" More tiny frogs got tired and gave up... ...But ONE continued higher and higher and higher... This one wouldn't give up! He was the only one who reached the top! All of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it? A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal? It turned out that the winner was DEAF!!!!

Proper Treatment for the Flag (United States)

The flag should always be displayed upright with the union to the top left. Flying the flag with the union down is considered a "breach of etiquette" (Sharpman). However, it can be used as a call for help, similar to SOS, if you are in extreme danger and need assistance. For a stationary flag displayed on a building, pole or staff, it is customary to fly it from sunrise to sunset. You are only permitted to display your flag at night if it is properly illuminated. This means that you must have a light dedicated to "spotlighting" your flag. A street light or well lit area will not provide enough light. With the right lighting, you can fly your flag 24 hours a day for as many days as you like. Throughout the years war protesters have flown the flag upside down to show that the entire country is in distress. It is still a debate whether this should be considered a desecration of the flag or an expression of free speech.

1. Men are NOT mind readers. 1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way. 1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it! 1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days. 1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself. 1. If we ask what is wrong and you say “nothing,” we will act like nothing’s wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle, besides we know you will bring it up again later. 1. If you ask a question you don’t want an answer to, expect an answer you don’t want to hear. 1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight. But did you know men really don’t mind that? It’s like camping. 1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We d

Journey to the Center of the Earth - The Theatrical Trailer

An exciting adventure based on the classic Jules Verne novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth," Journey to the Center of the Earth stars Brendan Fraser (Crash, The Mummy) as a science professor whose untraditional hypotheses have made him the laughing stock of the academic community. But on an expedition in Iceland, he and his nephew stumble upon a major discovery that launches them on a thrilling journey deep beneath the Earth's surface, where they travel through never-before-seen worlds and encounter a variety of unusual creatures. Journey to the Center of the Earth is directed by Academy Award-winning visual effects veteran Eric Brevig (Total Recall, Pearl Harbor) from a screenplay by Michael Weiss and Jennifer Flackett & Mark Levin. The film is a co-venture between New Line Cinema and Walden Media. Journey to the Center of the Earth is scheduled for a July 11, 2008 release. What I really like when it is a Brendan Fraser movie is that, you cannot just get fu

Toaster Ovens for All Uses

I really love to eat sandwiches and burgers but I just buy them at burger house because we don't have toaster ovens at home. Hmmmm... it's not that we cannot afford it, but it is because my mom doesn't bake or love burgers and sandwiches. My mom loves to cook vegetables soups and other Filipino dishes but not baking, so that is the reason it is not a must to have an oven at home. But for me I really love to have oven at home and I decided to buy one soon just to satisfy my wants of preparing homemade burgers and sandwiches. So, I came across at wize.com and read about their toaster ovens reviews. I was surprised because I thought you can just have toaster ovens for everything but they have reviews about toaster ovens with different uses like toaster ovens for pizza, for baking, for sweets. But thanks their is a toaster oven for all uses, which I am looking for. Why would I just buy a toaster oven for just one use? so, I think I would buy the one for all uses, so any foo

Online shopping is the the most probably in this days. But you cannot just trust evry shopping sites or shop at any online stores that you can stumble upon online. Ever since, I always wanted to buy a digital camera. But everytime I already have the budget to buy, I will be hesitant to pursue buying a Digital camera because I am not sure what is the best compact digital camera to buy or I fear that if I purchase one I might get frustrated after because the one I bought is not the best travel digital camera. I mean I want to buy a Digital camera that can cater all the purpose. So, I end up nothing but just a Sony Ericsson P990i Camera phone. But I stumble upon this website that has a very unique style of suggesting the users and buyers what to buy. www.bestinclass.com has a service on their website that can let you find the best digital camera for you, chosen by the experts. What are the Uses of GPS Tracking Devices?

What is GPS Tracking ? - GPS tracking according to Wikipedia is "a device that uses the Global Positioning System to determine the precise location of a vehicle, person, or other asset to which it is attached and to record the position of the asset at regular intervals. The recorded location data can be stored within the tracking unit, or it may be transmitted to a central location data base, or internet-connected computer, using a cellular (GPRS), radio, or satellite modem embedded in the unit. This allows the asset's location to be displayed against a map backdrop either in real-time or when analyzing the track later, using customized software." So, by that definition you already understand the use of GPS tracking device. For sure it is really useful for some tracking anyone, but particularly not very good for somebody. Like for example, if somebody is tracking you wherever you go for whatever reason that person has to track you. You would really feel bad about it, if
