Globe Telecom mulls expanding operations in Asean region

Globe Telecom President & CEO Ernest Cu said the Philippine telecommunications provider is exploring the possibility of expanding its operations within the ASEAN region to complement relatively strong economic growth within the region. “We will look for white space within Asean and Asia on where to leverage the skills we’ve developed overtime and we do think we’ve developed a decent telco business here in the Philippines. We have a great team and we’re thinking of ways to leverage that further in emerging economies,” Cu said in a video shown at the recent APEC CEO Summit in Beijing, China.  The APEC CEO Summit is a premier business event, attended by thousands of economic and business leaders from around the region. Bayan-Globe calls for dismissal of CA case

PRESS RELEASE Bayantel Telecommunications and Globe Telecom called for the dismissal of the PLDT-instigated case for “utter lack of merit” at the Court of Appeals (CA).  In the Joint Rejoinder of Bayan-Globe to the 17 th  Division of the CA last October 30, both telcos also asked the CA to correspondingly lift the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) it issued last October 9 against NTC and to deny the granting of a writ of preliminary injunction. In the said Joint Rejoinder, Globe maintains that PLDT’s “pushing its  ‘bully’s agenda’  on flimsy grounds shows it will stop at nothing to prevent a five-billion peso (Php 5,000,000,000) rehabilitation effort by Globe from seeing the light of day”.
