Airplane vs. Birds

The image above is scenic only at first glance. Facing a huge flock of birds during takeoff or landing will evoke sweaty palms in most pilots – and passengers probably. Though the majority of birdstrikes cause little damage to a plane, they do result in a great number of bird fatalities and cause annual damages estimated at $400 million in the U.S. alone and $1.2 billion worldwide.

According to a confidential database managed by NASA, the years from 1990 to 2007 saw almost 80,000 reported incidents of birds striking nonmilitary aircraft, resulting in emergency landings, aborted takeoffs or close calls – and these are just the voluntarily reported incidents.

Tsunami Hit Samoa islands After the Quake

By FILI SAGAPOLUTELE, For The Associated Press

LALOMANU, Samoa – A Samoan reporter says tsunami victims "are everywhere" in a hospital near a hard-hit area and the dead could number up to 20. Associated Press reporter Keni Lesa said three or four villages on the popular tourist coast near the southern town of Lalomanu on Samoa's main island of Upolu had been "wiped out" by waves that roared ashore early Wednesday.

Lesa said he had visited the town's main hospital where "there are bodies everywhere," including at least one child.

The Samoan government has not yet confirmed fatalities. Officials in neighboring American Samoa say at least 14 people have been killed there.

Help Wanted!

A retired man went into the Job Center in Downtown Denver, and saw a card advertising for a Gynecologist's Assistant. Interested, he went in and asked the clerk for details.

The clerk pulled up the file and read; "The job entails getting the ladies ready for the gynecologist. You have to help the women out of their underwear, lay them down and carefully wash their private regions, then apply shaving foam and gently shave off the hair, then rub in soothing oils so they're ready for the gynecologist's examination."

"The annual salary is $65,000, and you'll have to go to Billings, Montana, which is about 550 miles from here."

"Good grief, is that where the job is?"

"No sir....that's where the end of the line is right now."

Funny Stuff: Secret lovers found literally stuck to each other

Two secret lovers became the talk of the town in the southern Philippines Wednesday after they were found literally stuck to each other.

Doctors were at a loss on how to separate the two lovers, who had been stuck for more than 17 hours since Tuesday night, radio dzRH reported Wednesday afternoon.

The report quoted doctors at the Isulan town hospital in Sultan Kudarat province as saying the two lovers experienced penis captivus, a condition in which the muscles in the female organ clamp down on the male organ more firmly than usual, making it impossible for the man to withdraw his organ from the woman's.

Before experiencing the condition, the two lovers had a rendezvous at a local pension house in Isulan town Tuesday night.

The man, 32, was described as married and connected with the Department of Public Works and Highways. The woman, 20, was working at a local department store.

Initial investigation showed that the two experienced penis captivus at about 10 p.m., and decided to seek medical help at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, said the report.

Draped only in a blanket, the naked couple asked a tricycle driver outside the pension house to take them to a hospital.

At the hospital, doctors used a tranquilizer on the man to make his muscles contract, but still could not immediately separate the duo. - GMANews.TV

The World's no.1 except in the Philippines

Ahahahaha... this is what I like the most when Americans advertise their product... so true yet no offense to other party. Unlike in the Philippines, even a very lame issue, they always make it a big deal.

Anyway, I don't have any particular fave fast food chain. When I am hungry, I reach out to the nearest one McDo or Jobee... I love the burger steak at Jobee and I like the Cheese Burger at McDo, I love to sip both McFlurry and Swirly Bits and I always order the Coke Float everytime I order a meal at McDO. But, I tend to lessen my fast food intake these days... I gotta eat healthy foods now.

72 Filipinos arrested in Saudi for 'gay' behavior

MANILA, Philippines- Wearing drag at a private event may be harmless fun in many societies, but 72 Filipino men found out they could suffer imprisonment and lashing in Saudi Arabia for such activities after they were arrested for immorality recently.

An article in the Arabic news site www.sabq.org said several “deviants," a term used by Saudi Arabia’s English-language media to describe people who engage in gay behavior, were rounded up during a concert inside a compound in an eastern Riyadh neighborhood.

The report quoted unnamed police officials as saying a "large number of foreign workers" were arrested in the incident, and 72 of them have Philippine citizenship.

Vice Consul Roussel Reyes of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh told GMANews.TV by phone on Tuesday that they are still confirming the identities of the Filipinos and will seek their employers’ help to bail them out.

Open display of homosexual behavior is strictly prohibited under Saudi Arabia’s Sharia’h law. In extreme cases, such as when the unless the government feels that homosexuals are challenging state authority, the maximum punishment for the act is public execution.

Normally, however, other punishments such as fines, imprisonment, and whipping as alternatives. Individuals caught wearing even just one article of women’s clothing could face three to six months imprisonment, and suffer between 50 and 100 lashes with a rattan stick.

Reyes said nearly 50 other Filipinos have been arrested and jailed in the past for similar violations.

Only sponsors are able to bail out foreign workers who are imprisoned, as long as they provide assurance that the accused would show up in court during trial.

In August last year, Saudi Arabia’s Commission for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice arrested several Filipinos in a gay party in the country’s eastern province for "lewd behavior" as well as possession of drugs and alcohol. Arrested foreign nationals are often deported after serving their jail sentence. - GMANews.TV

Chk-Chk Boom shooting witness Clare Werbeloff

CLARE WERBELOFF, the "Kings Cross bogan" who introduced "chk chk boom" into the Australian vernacular last week, has been exposed by police as a fake.

The 19-year-old from Sydney's northern beaches shot to international fame with her colourful account of a shooting outside a Kings Cross nightclub last weekend.

By yesterday, nearly 300,000 people had watched her account of the "fat wog" shooting the "skinny wog" on video-sharing website YouTube, and more than 15,000 had joined fan sites on Facebook.

Within 24 hours of the footage first airing on Channel Nine, T-shirts emblazoned with "chk chk boom", the phrase which Ms Werbeloff used to describe the gunshot, were being sold on a US website. There were also drink bottles with the slogan and a rap-music remix of her video.

But Ms Werbeloff has been forced to admit her "eyewitness" account was bogus.

As she prepared to tell all on Nine's A Current Affair, detectives told The Sun-Herald last night Ms Werbeloff's account of the shooting of Justin Kallu, 27, the so-called "skinny wog", was made up.

"We have interviewed her and she has not witnessed the shooting," said acting Kings Cross Police crime manager, Detective Inspector Matt McQueen. "She has admitted to making it all up and has not witnessed the shooting."

After the phenomenon went global, Ms Werbeloff joined forces with a publicist, who would not respond to questions from The Sun-Herald yesterday.

But not everyone has jumped on the bandwagon, with more than 750 people signing up to a hate site on Facebook.

Inspector McQueen would not say what motivated Ms Werbeloff to go on camera and claim to be a witness.

Police said they have ruled out laying any public mischief charges against her. Media blogs last week reported that Ms Werbeloff had been working for The Projects, the management agency co-owned by her PR agent, Adam Abrams.

Mr Abrams denied Ms Werbeloff worked for the agency, but said she had done an exclusive deal with Nine and would not be speaking to other media.

"Clare won't be commenting [until] Monday night on A Current Affair as she wants to tell the story once in full," he said.

A source said Ms Werbeloff's older sister had been "embarrassed" by her sibling's new-found fame, and that Clare was fearful of retribution from the gang members who she mocked.

Dog Story - A Little Saturday Humor

A guy is driving around the back woods of Kentucky and he sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style house: 'Talking Dog For Sale .' He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard.

The guy goes into the backyard and sees a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there.

'You talk?' he asks.
'Yep,' the Lab replies.
Smart dog, lol. Have a great day.

After the guy recovers from the shock of hearing a dog talk, he says 'So, what's your story?'

The Lab looks up and says, 'Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA. In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping.'

'I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.'

'I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired.'

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.

'Ten dollars,' the guy says.

'Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?'

'Because he's a liar. He never did any of that stuff!!!!!!

Philippines Will Never Be a Great Nation

I just watched "The Probe" where they featured on this episode Miss Mae Paner as Juana Change. She's talking about the government in the Philippines... talking how corrupt the Philippine government today. All her videos are talking about Philippine Politics.

Here's my favorite video so far. It really hit me how hopeless the Philippines to become a great nation in the future.

It touches me because no matter how we try to make this nation a great nation in the future, we cannot achieve it as long as we won't change our leaders. I mean... if we will not choose the best and honest leaders then we are really hopeless.

Politician TV Ads... Pathetic!

What's with some senators of the Philippines are up to right now appearing on TV Ads for themselves about how they will help the people from poverty? It's too early for election campaign but I think those ads are preparations of these politicians for the upcoming Presidential Election. Duh! it's just so pathetic to watch these ads now and later after they win, what now? They are gone like a bubble in the air and those promises in the ads are where?

If they really want to help the people in the Philippines, why not just do it and there is no need to advertise it on TV or any other media institutions. People will know who really made some changes for their lives and they can see it through their works and projects. Maybe after they got the office for their respective positions, they will just discuss the endless scams of their fellow government officials kicking each other's butt for them to somehow win the attention of the people that they will come out as the hero.

Whatever, I don't believe to the most politicians nowadays in the Philippines. Too much of politicking makes me distrust them. I didn't vote for any single national election ever, because I think even if I will be voting anyway, it still not counted because of that "Dagdag-Bawas" they do every election (remember the hello garci scandal?). I will try registering myself this year and only if the registration process will be change at the Commission on Election then probably I will be willing to do it and cast my vote for the 2010 election. But for now, I'll continue to LOL those TV ads they made for people to beleive in them.

By the way you should watch this edited video I found at youtube posted and edited by someone else called himself CCKMA.

This one too from other user...

This one too from different user with a caption that says... "Don't be a fool, do the math yourself... this ads on t.v. by Money is just a stunt to gain more acknowledgment on the public that would make his image more pleasant. do the math! "

What If...

Every day was treated like a new beginning?

Where grudges, bitterness, unforgiveness, and worries died the moment your head hit the pillow. And at the time you had awaken to a new morning your mind would be renewed, not lacking knowledge or wisdom from the past, but building on what has been made from prior situations and circumstances.

Each person you'd come into contact with you'd treat like it had been the first time you'd met them and your first impression persona was at the top of it's game. Being kind, loving, unconditional in terms of your friendship in how things are done to show thanks. What if, we did things without having presumptuous intentions of wanting to be thanked for what we had done.

What if, we shared our gifts just out of love and never had the expectations of wanting to be loved in return, because we had the reassurance of knowing we're already loved regardless of what we do.

What if, our confidence was placed in something bigger then ourselves so that our dreams weren't limited to our own fears and insecurities.

What if, believing was reality?

I got this from a youtube video post of Strawburry17 and I really like the message so much that I want to post it here too.

The man in the glass

By: dale Wimbrow

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
just go to a mirror and look at yourself
And see what that man has to say.

For it isn't you father or mother or wife
Whose judgment upon you must pass;
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.

Some people may think you a straight-shootin' chum
And call you a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest,
For he's with you clear up to the end.
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the man in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of life
And get pats on your back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the man in the glass.

Alfie Patten is a father at 13 with partner Chantelle Steadman (15) - Another case of Teen Pregnancy

Playing computer games, going out with friends, watching TV, going to school… those are probably what is in the mind of a typical 13 year old boy. But that’s not what Alfie Patten from South East England has in mind now.

Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne.

He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant. The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby.

“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.”

Alfie, who is just 4ft tall, added: “When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble. We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react.

“I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.”
Alfie’s dad Dennis told how the lad does not really understand the enormity of his situation — but seemed desperate to be a devoted and responsible father.Alfie’s dad Dennis told how the lad does not really understand the enormity of his situation — but seemed desperate to be a devoted and responsible father. - The Sun Reports

Cagayan de Oro Hit by Flash Flood

It's been almost 2 decades since I experienced a flash floods on our old home in Barangay Carmen but after that flood in 1989 caused by typhoon Ruping, our family decided to transfer in Barangay Kauswagan around 1992. We decided to transfer because it is not easy being hit by a flash floods. The trauma, tension, fear and inconvenience are some of the feelings you can experience. Being trapped inside your house surrounded by flood waters makes you feel so scared that it might be the end of your life specially those times when I was just 10 years old and don’t know how to swim.

Now after 20 years, flash floods took place again on the same area where we previously lived. Early this morning, I just arrived home from Iligan City when I heard a radio reports about flash flood in Carmen area and the rest of the area near the Cagayan de Oro River. Without hesitations and still sleepy I prepared myself and headed to the areas being reported to witness the incident. When I arrived at the area near my childhood home, I was so surprised to see that it is not just the ordinary flood because for a few flash floods I experienced before this one is the most powerful. It reaches almost at the rooftops of the houses. I was so worried because I have some relatives who are still living on the very spot of this picture:

But thank God I received a text message from one of the relatives that they are all fine but just trapped inside their home, only they stayed on the elevated areas. Earlier they can see houses being dragged along the river and few individuals being rescued and a mother and child who were also rescued along the rushing river. Numbers of cattle were also found dead and was butchered by some residents.

Residents said that the flash flood started around 6 in the morning and they thought it is just a small flash flood but later around 7am a big wave hit the homes of residents of Carmen and that is when the water volume increased rapidly and trapped them unprepared inside their homes.

Until now, as of this writing, the flood still continues but the water is decreasing. Some residents were being temporarily sheltered at the West City Central School in Carmen until they can go back to their respective houses when the flood stops. Relief goods are also distributed to the victims and Medical attentions are also given.
