The New Experimental YouTube Homepage

January 01, 2011 0
Want to use a different version of the YouTube homepage?

What we're trying out:

  • Combined list - Merges your subscriptions, friend activity, and recommendations into one easier-to-scan list
  • Don't miss a video - If a channel uploads 4 videos in a day, you'll see all 4 - instead of just the latest video
  • Delete anything - Hover over any video you don't want to watch and click 'x'
  • Or just grey it out - Videos you've already watched will be greyed out - so even without deleting, you'll know where you left off
  • Help me re-find stuff I just watched - Your homepage will include your recent likes and favorites so you can easily get back to them
  • Easy inbox - Links to your inbox (personal messages & comments) are front and center
  • Load much more - Watch older videos - all without leaving the homepage

Quick tip: If you only care about your subscriptions, just click on "Subscription uploads" at the top - we'll remember your setting.

I tried this new Youtube homapage and so far, I like it. It is cool and in order compared to the old settings homepage.

But then it is not really a sad ending for those who wanted to know... one artist made a happy ending about it, because maybe he can't accept the sad ending of the kiwi after the hard work he put just to get the feeling of how it is to fly... watch this...

YouTube users have questions for the Democrats

July 26, 2007 0

It wasn’t celebrity death match, but Monday’s Democratic presidential debate was entertaining, thanks to questions posed by YouTube users via Web videos.
Bonus: The candidates had to make their own videos. (Check out John Edwards combing his expensive haircut to the tune of “I Feel Pretty.”)
Here are eight of our favorites. See the videos on youtube.com.
Watch how the Republicans handle their YouTube debate Sept. 17.
1 The What-We’re-All-Thinking Guy
Snarky guy opens by asking the eight politicians if they could actually answer questions rather than beating around the (wait for it…) Bush?”
2 The Snowman
Asks about global warming, of course.
3 The Rednecks
Comedians ask about whether all the attention paid to Al Gore hurts the candidates’ feelings.
4 The Heavy Metal song
Poses a question about No Child Left Behind through song.
5 The Proud Gun Parent
A man from Michigan asks if candidates want to take away his “baby” — an assault rifle.
6 The Obama Question
Are you black enough?
7 The Hillary Question
Are you feminine enough?
8 That Question’s Been in the Bathroom!
Indeed, a woman posed a question from her bathroom.

Hillary asks YouTube users for help on song

May 26, 2007 1
WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton wants YouTube viewers to pick her campaign theme song — and the response, so far, has been music to her ears.

In a clear appeal to young voters, a YouTube video asks viewers to vote for Clinton's presidential campaign theme song on her Web site. The contest started May 16 and the number of songs was narrowed to 10 on Thursday — five initially suggested by the campaign and five write-in candidates.

They range from U2's "Beautiful Day" to Smash Mouth's version of "I'm a Believer" to Celine Dion's "You and I."

"I want to know what you're thinking on one of the most important questions of this campaign," Clinton said in a mock-serious tone during the initial video. "It's something we've been struggling with, debating, agonizing over for months. So now I'm turning to you, the American people." More>>>

Youtube website Blocked in Turkey

March 16, 2007 1
YouTube the popular video sharing site, which is recently acquired by Google has been banned in Turkey.

The Turkish court has given the order to completely blocked access to YouTube. This is done because of a video that allegedly insults Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, modern Turkey’s founder.

Turk Telecom which is the largest ISP of turkey has blocked the access to youtube, Turkish users who are trying to visit YouTube receiving a message that: “Access to www.youtube.com site has been suspended in accordance with decision no: 2007/384 dated 06.03.2007 of Istanbul First Criminal Peace Court.”

This type of problem is not uncommon, we in India has already seen about eight months ago blogspot and some other sites were blocked in India, however that banned was lifted after 3-4 days.

Recently YouTube was also in news in india for an insulting video on Mahatma Gandhi and many people had demanded for the ban of youtube.
