The Revenge of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao

March 20, 2005, the first bout of Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales where Manny got lost the battle. Click here for my previous article about their first bout last year.

Now, Sunday, January 22, 2005 Philippine time, first hour in the morning that day, the people in our neighborhood really can’t wait to watch the revenge of the Filipino’s pride, the pride of General Santos City, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. Our neighbors gather around together in one of our neighbor’s house to watch together the Battle of the year, the “Morales-Pacquiao 2 The Battle”. You can really see the full 100 percent supports of the Filipinos for Manny’s battle because every time Manny blow a punch to Morales, everyone screamed and applauded, but worried every time Manny received a hit from Erik “el Terrible” Morales.

On the early rounds the fight seems fair for each other but at the 6^th round Manny dominated the battle down to the 10^th round where Erik Morales got knock down by Manny’s left hook. After the fight concluded, the Filipinos celebrated the success of their idol and the President of the Philippines called right away to first hand send her congratulations to the Great fighter Manny Pacquiao.

Manny thanked all his supporters especially all his fellow Filipinos, not only in the Philippines but Filipinos all over the world. He really meant what his song says “Para sayo ang laban na ‘to Bayan ko”. He also said it was not only his success or his family’s but a success of all Filipinos around the world.

For Manny, you really deserve our supports, Win or lose, still you are our Hero, our inspiration. Keep waiving our flag and keep our national anthem playing on those rings where you are fighting. The Filipinos are looking up to you, you are our Idol. Mabuhay ka Manny, Mabuhay tayong mga Filipino, Mabuhay ang Pilipinas.
